CLT, BIM, technological connectors: this is how you cut down construction time for timber houses 

The design versatility offered by CLT and design softwares reaches its peak when construction solutions are integrated.  

In this residential project in Hungary, CLT Innowood Hungary Kft. gave a textbook answer to the question “Yes, but how long does it take to build a timber house?”. 

By taking advantage of the Rothoblaas products, it guaranteed the customer a fast construction, 4 days for the entire building, and calculated per millimetre.  

SLOT and NINO are the protagonists of practical and smudge-free connections of walls and panels, while our selection of screws is the backbone of the structure, both in the main body and in the pergola.   

SLOT: the connector that cuts down the construction time of timber houses 

The SLOT aluminium connector is ideal for wall and floors connections of multi-storey buildings. The wedge shape simplifies insertion into the groove, speeding up work and simplifying installation. 

The honeycomb structure maximises strength for flawless designs in every detail. Made of aluminium, it is lightweight and easy to handle, saving you time and energy on-site. 

SLOTalso offers a possibility of assembly with inclined auxiliary screws that make tightening between panels easy. Its performance is outstanding: one connector can replace up to 60 Ø6 screws, which reduces installation time. SLOT is CE-marked, in accordance with ETA. 

Values are tested, certified and calculated also on glulam, CLT, LVL Softwood and LVL Hardwood. It can be used with CLT, LVL or glulam panels. 

NINO: versatility and record strength, for faster timber construction 

The NINO connector is the universal angle bracket that allows you to speed up the construction time of timber houses by reducing the range of solutions to choose from on-site. 

They are available in four sizes to meet many different fastening requirements, e.g. raised wall installation on concrete kerb or the presence of a plasterboard internal wall. 

Fastening to timber elements can be carried out using only LBA improved adhesion nails or LBS plate screws in the traditional manner. The addition of the optional VGS full thread connectors provides unimaginable strengths for smaller connectors. The XYLOFON PLATE resilient profile coupling, certified by ETA with exceptional strengths, combines structural requirements with the resilient profile's ability to reduce acoustic bridges due to connections. 

The ETA-22/0089 certified strengths for forces in all directions make NINO a complete solution for fastening CLT or timber frame walls. Their small dimensions also make them an ideal solution for non-structural applications or small fastening requirements. The same angle bracket can be used in timber-to-timber or timber-to-concrete configurations. On concrete, the additional washer provides surprising strengths.
